GC ABRASIVES
The GC Abrasives 1-1/2" x 3/4" Non-Woven Mounted Flap Wheel with 1/4" Shank – 100 Grit is designed for professional metal surface conditioning applications where controlled cutting action, flexibility and a consistent finish are required.
Constructed from multiple flexible non-woven abrasive flaps arranged radially around a central hub, the wheel provides excellent conformability to flat surfaces, contours, edges and complex workpiece geometries.
The aluminum oxide abrasive provides reliable cutting performance for general-purpose metalworking applications, while the 100-grit grade offers a practical balance between surface cleaning, blending and refinement.
Unlike more aggressive grinding wheels intended for heavy stock removal, the non-woven structure provides controlled abrasive action that helps minimize gouging and unnecessary removal of the base material. The open construction also allows debris to escape from the working area, helping reduce loading during extended finishing operations.
The compact 1-1/2" diameter provides excellent maneuverability, while the 3/4" face width offers sufficient contact area for efficient finishing. An integrated 1/4" shank enables convenient installation on compatible portable rotary tools.
With a maximum operating speed of 15,000 RPM, this mounted flap wheel is suitable for professional fabrication, maintenance, automotive, metalworking and industrial surface-finishing applications when operated within the specified speed limit.

Safety Note: Do not exceed the maximum operating speed of 15,000 RPM. Always use the wheel with a compatible tool and follow appropriate abrasive safety procedures.
Provides a balanced combination of cutting action and surface refinement for general-purpose metal-finishing applications.
Flexible abrasive flaps conform to edges, contours, profiles and irregular workpieces, helping maintain consistent contact with the surface.
Designed for surface conditioning rather than aggressive grinding, helping minimize gouging and unnecessary stock removal.
The porous non-woven construction allows debris to escape during operation, helping reduce loading and maintain effective abrasive contact.
The small wheel diameter provides excellent control for detailed work, small components and difficult-to-access areas.
Provides a practical working surface for efficient blending and finishing while maintaining good maneuverability.
Allows convenient mounting on compatible die grinders, straight grinders, drills and other rotary tools without requiring a separate arbor.
The non-woven abrasive construction helps blend scratches and processing marks into a more uniform surface appearance.
Suitable for removing light oxidation, discoloration, processing residue and surface contamination from metal components.
Refines small burrs and sharp edges while helping preserve the original geometry of the workpiece.
Helps refine weld areas and blend surrounding processing marks after fabrication.
Blends machining marks, previous abrasive lines and minor surface imperfections into the surrounding finish.
Suitable for controlled cleaning, blending and surface refinement on stainless steel components.
Helps create a consistent satin or matte surface appearance on suitable metals.
Flexible flaps follow curved surfaces, profiles, edges and irregular geometries more effectively than rigid abrasive wheels.
The combination of a 1-1/2" diameter and 1/4" shank makes the wheel particularly suitable for small components, internal areas and confined spaces.
Prepares metal surfaces for subsequent polishing, coating, painting or additional finishing operations.
| Material | Typical Applications |
|---|---|
| Stainless Steel | Blending, cleaning, satin finishing |
| Carbon Steel | Cleaning, light deburring, surface preparation |
| Mild Steel | Blending, oxidation removal, finishing |
| Aluminum | Controlled cleaning and surface refinement |
| Non-Ferrous Metals | General surface conditioning and finishing |
