Product Overview

The GC Abrasives 2" x 1" Interleaved Flap Wheel with 1/4" Shank is a combination abrasive wheel engineered for professional metal cleaning, blending, deburring and finishing applications.

Unlike conventional flap wheels made entirely from coated abrasive cloth or non-woven flap wheels made entirely from surface-conditioning material, this interleaved wheel features alternating layers of coated abrasive cloth and non-woven abrasive flaps.

The abrasive cloth provides effective cutting action to remove scratches, oxidation, minor burrs and surface imperfections, while the non-woven flaps simultaneously condition and blend the workpiece surface. This combination allows operators to perform material removal and surface refinement in one operation, potentially reducing the number of abrasive steps required.

The flexible radial flap construction adapts effectively to contours, edges, profiles and irregular surfaces. As the wheel rotates, the individual flaps maintain contact with the workpiece while remaining flexible enough to help reduce excessive gouging.

The compact 2" diameter provides excellent maneuverability for detailed work, while the 1" face width provides a practical working area for efficient surface conditioning. The integrated 1/4" shank allows convenient mounting on compatible portable rotary tools.

Multiple abrasive grits from 40 to 120 allow the product to be selected according to the required balance between cutting action and final surface finish.
