The GC Abrasives 3" Brown Coarse Non-Woven Quick-Change Surface Conditioning Disc – Type R is engineered for professional metalworking applications requiring stronger cleaning and blending action combined with controlled material removal.

Its three-dimensional non-woven abrasive web provides a flexible yet durable working surface. The open construction allows debris to escape during use, helping reduce loading and maintain effective abrasive contact with the workpiece.

The Coarse grade is particularly suitable for initial surface-conditioning operations such as removing oxidation, cleaning fabricated components, blending processing marks, light-to-medium deburring and preparing metal surfaces for subsequent finishing stages.

Compared with smaller 2" discs, the 3" (75 mm) diameter provides greater surface coverage and is well suited to larger workpieces while retaining the flexibility required for edges, contours and irregular surfaces.

The integrated Type R quick-change attachment enables fast disc replacement on compatible backing pads, making it convenient to switch between Coarse, Medium and Fine grades during multi-stage finishing processes.
