GC ABRASIVES
The GC Abrasives 6" Unitized Finishing & Deburring Wheel – 8S Medium Silicon Carbide is an industrial non-woven abrasive wheel engineered for applications requiring effective deburring combined with controlled surface finishing.
Unlike loose or highly flexible non-woven wheels, a unitized wheel is formed from compressed layers of non-woven abrasive material bonded into a dense, resilient structure. This construction provides greater edge stability and controlled cutting action while retaining enough conformability to follow workpiece contours.
The silicon carbide abrasive provides a sharp cutting action suitable for refining metal surfaces and edges. Combined with the 8S Medium unitized construction, the wheel is particularly suited to deburring and finishing operations where dimensional control and surface quality are both important.
It can be used for removing light-to-moderate burrs, breaking and radiusing sharp edges, blending machining marks, refining weld areas and conditioning surfaces before subsequent finishing processes.

I recommend retaining “8S Medium” exactly as the grade designation rather than converting it into a conventional grit number.
8S Medium is not the same thing as an 80-, 120- or 180-grit coated abrasive. For this product family, density/construction and abrasive grade work together to determine wheel behavior.
Also, add the maximum RPM only after confirming the actual rated speed of the GC Abrasives product.
Compressed non-woven abrasive layers create a resilient wheel with greater edge stability than conventional open-web finishing wheels.
Provides a useful balance between wheel firmness, cutting action and conformability for industrial deburring and finishing.
Silicon carbide provides a sharp cutting action for controlled material removal and surface refinement.
Designed to remove burrs and sharp edges while helping maintain the geometry of the workpiece.
Suitable for edge breaking, smoothing and controlled radiusing on machined and fabricated components.
Helps blend machining marks, minor scratches and surface irregularities into a more uniform finish.
The unitized construction provides sufficient flexibility to follow contours while maintaining the firmness required for controlled finishing.
The abrasive is distributed throughout the unitized material, allowing fresh abrasive to become exposed progressively as the wheel wears.
For removing burrs left by:
Machining • Milling • Drilling • Stamping • Cutting • Fabrication
Smooths sharp edges and corners without the aggressive cutting action of conventional grinding wheels.
Suitable for creating controlled, smooth edge transitions on compatible metal components.
Helps refine tool marks and surface irregularities following machining operations.
Useful for refining transition areas and remaining grinding marks after weld preparation or grinding.
Conditions metal surfaces before coating, polishing or subsequent finishing processes.
Can remove light oxidation and surface contamination while simultaneously refining the underlying surface.
The resilient wheel structure makes it suitable for edges, profiles and moderately contoured components where controlled contact is important.
The product can be positioned for finishing applications on:
Stainless Steel • Carbon Steel • Alloy Steel • Aluminum • Brass • Copper • Other Compatible Metals
For production applications, the wheel specification should always be matched to the workpiece material and required finish.
Metal Fabrication • Automotive • Aerospace • Precision Machining • Tool Manufacturing • Stainless Steel Processing • Medical Components • Hardware Manufacturing • Machinery • General Industrial Maintenance
For this product, I recommend adding a small educational section because many buyers understand grit numbers but may not immediately understand a unitized-wheel designation.
8S Medium identifies the wheel's unitized construction/grade rather than a conventional coated-abrasive grit number.
The relatively firm unitized structure provides controlled edge contact and consistent abrasive action, making it particularly suitable for applications where deburring performance and surface quality need to be balanced.
This wording is safer and more professional than presenting 8S = a particular grit number, which I would avoid.
GC Abrasives manufactures bonded, coated and non-woven abrasive products for professional metalworking and industrial finishing applications.
Our non-woven abrasive range supports multiple processing stages from surface conditioning and blending to controlled deburring and precision finishing.
Different diameters, widths, center holes, abrasive minerals and unitized grades can be developed for different equipment and finishing requirements.
Controlled manufacturing helps maintain consistent wheel dimensions, structure and abrasive distribution for repeatable production finishing.
Wheel specifications can be selected according to the customer's workpiece material, burr size, edge geometry, equipment and required surface finish.
GC Abrasives supports international distributors and industrial brands with OEM production, private labeling, customized packaging and product development.
