GC ABRASIVES
The GC Abrasives 8" Non-Woven Polishing Wheel is an industrial surface-finishing abrasive developed for applications requiring controlled cutting action and a consistent surface appearance.
The wheel combines white aluminum oxide abrasive with a resilient non-woven fiber structure. Unlike conventional rigid grinding wheels designed for aggressive stock removal, the non-woven construction conforms to the workpiece and provides controlled abrasive contact.
This makes the wheel particularly suitable for scratch blending, surface conditioning, light deburring, grain finishing, satin finishing and polishing preparation.
Its open three-dimensional structure provides space for airflow and processing debris, helping reduce loading during finishing operations.
The 8-inch product is available in 1" and 2" widths, while multiple density options allow users to select the wheel characteristics according to the workpiece and desired finish.

These size, abrasive and density options are based on the current GC Abrasives product data.
I recommend adding bore size, abrasive grade/grit and maximum RPM only after confirming the exact production specifications. They should not be inferred from another wheel.
Provides controlled cutting action for industrial cleaning, blending and metal surface-finishing applications.
The resilient abrasive network conforms to the workpiece and maintains consistent surface contact.
Available in 5P, 7P, 9P and 12P, allowing the wheel structure to be matched to different finishing requirements.
Choose a narrower working face for greater control or a wider wheel for increased surface coverage.
Designed primarily for surface refinement rather than aggressive stock removal, helping preserve workpiece geometry.
Helps blend machining marks, sanding lines and minor scratches into a more uniform surface.
The porous construction provides space for airflow and debris during finishing operations.
Suitable for creating or restoring brushed and satin finishes when the appropriate density and abrasive grade are selected.
Ideal for conditioning and refining stainless steel surfaces where a uniform decorative or industrial finish is required.
Suitable for:
Handles • Hinges • Locks • Door Hardware • Furniture Hardware • Decorative Metal Components
These are also application areas identified on the existing GC product page.
Helps refine machining marks, sanding lines and minor surface imperfections.
Suitable for creating or restoring directional grain and satin finishes on stainless steel and compatible metals.
Helps remove light burrs and refine edges without aggressive material removal.
Prepares surfaces between fabrication, grinding, plating and subsequent finishing processes.
Suitable wheel specifications can be selected for controlled grain finishing and surface refinement of aluminum components.
Can be used for controlled finishing of copper and other compatible non-ferrous metal components.
Suitable specifications can be used for surface conditioning before selected plating and decorative finishing processes.
This is one of the most important improvements I recommend for this page because your current GC product already offers four densities.
| Density | Relative Character | Recommended Positioning |
|---|---|---|
| 5P | More Flexible | Contours & controlled blending |
| 7P | Medium-Firm | General-purpose finishing |
| 9P | Firmer | Controlled grain finishing |
| 12P | Highest firmness in this range | Shape retention & defined contact |
5P → 7P → 9P → 12P
MORE CONFORMABLE → MORE FIRM
This is preferable to describing 5P/7P/9P/12P as grit numbers. Density and abrasive grit should remain separate specifications.
The narrower working face is suitable for components, profiles and applications requiring greater finishing control.
The wider working face provides greater surface coverage for larger workpieces and production finishing.
1" WIDTH — CONTROL & VERSATILITY
2" WIDTH — COVERAGE & PRODUCTIVITY
