The GC Abrasives 80 Grit Aluminum Oxide Mounted Flap Wheel with 1/4" Shank is a versatile coated abrasive tool designed for general-purpose sanding, blending, cleaning and finishing.

The wheel consists of multiple aluminum oxide abrasive cloth flaps arranged radially around a central hub. As the wheel rotates, the flexible flaps maintain contact with the workpiece and conform more effectively to curves, contours, edges and irregular surfaces than rigid abrasive wheels.

The 80-grit aluminum oxide abrasive provides a practical medium cutting action suitable for removing light rust, oxidation, scratches, machining marks and minor surface imperfections while leaving the surface ready for subsequent finishing operations.

As the outer edges of the abrasive flaps gradually wear, fresh abrasive grain is continuously exposed. This self-renewing flap action helps maintain effective cutting performance throughout the usable life of the wheel.
