GC Abrasives Shaft-Mounted Interleaved Flap Wheels are professional combination abrasive wheels designed for applications requiring both controlled material removal and surface finishing.

Unlike conventional non-woven flap wheels made entirely from non-woven abrasive material, interleaved flap wheels feature alternating layers of coated abrasive cloth and non-woven abrasive flaps.

The abrasive cloth provides increased cutting action for removing scratches, oxidation, minor surface imperfections and processing marks, while the non-woven material helps blend the surface and produce a more uniform finish.

This combination allows operators to perform cutting, blending and finishing in one operation, reducing the need for multiple abrasive products and process steps.

The flexible radial flap construction follows the shape of the workpiece and provides effective contact on flat surfaces, contours, edges, profiles, tubes and complex geometries. As the flaps wear during operation, fresh abrasive surfaces are continuously exposed, helping maintain consistent performance throughout the service life of the wheel.
